Examples of our work
- Arcus helped improve the human, clinical and administrative performance of a hospital system consisting of nine mid size hospitals with a total of over 4000 beds. We collected data on key indicators such as patient and staff satisfaction, wait times by department, quality of care with feedback from patients, staff, management and clinicians. We developed a team-based care model that redefined responsibilities of nursing, physicians and specialists in the continuum of care. The strategy helped the hospital redesign roles of clinical staff and improved financial performance, lowered costs and increased patient and staff satisfaction.
- We supported the development of a patient care and risk management system that was deployed at over 250 hospitals in Canada and the US. The strategy included a comprehensive review of risk associated with clinical procedures, departments, work flow across staff functions and organizational transformation opportunities. This multiyear engagement helped to develop specific long term strategic goals for hospitals to improve patient care, manage data collection on near misses and helped to redesign the organizational structure to optimize patient care and improve team effectiveness. The program outcome was a care model that enhanced patient care and optimized the performance of specific hospital departments such as emergency and obstetrics.
